Temperature Play

What is it?

Temperature play is a form of BDSM sensual play where objects and substances are used to stimulate the body's neuroreceptors for heat and cold for sensual effect.

Neurotransmitters are chemical messengers in the body. Their job is to transmit signals from nerve cells to target cells. So for example, things like dopamine, serotonin, adrenaline and so on.

In simple terms this means using heat or cooling products during sexual acts can ‘shock’ your body making it more exciting and sensitive!

What can you use for temperature play?

You and your partner/s can use many things to stimulate the senses with temperature. We have a wide range of heating lubricants to get things ‘warmed’ up (hehe) and once you’re ready to progress a bit further using a massaging candle that melt into an oil for a nice warm sensual massage or if you want something a bit hotter, you can shop our Japanese Drip Candles that melt into a hot wax.

Now on the other side of the spectrum – for a cooling sensation – you can’t go past the classic ice cube down the body, however there are a few things to try that won’t freeze your hand (or mouth 😉). You can try our elegant, upscale, and hand-crafted range of glass or aluminium massagers. Chill the toys by running them under cold water for a cool sensation or under warm water to heat things up.

For automatic warming toys, shop our range of heating rabbit vibes or our heating anal plugs/vibrators!
